Bus services to and from Orston operated by Trent Barton are changing again from the beginning of August 2016.

Buses from Orston to Bingham

  • The daytime service is called Rushcliffe Villager 2
  • The buses operate 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday
  • There is an hourly service to Bingham leaving Orston at 9.51, 10.51, 11.51, 12.51, 13.51, 14.51, 15.51
  • The service to Bingham goes via Aslockton and Whatton. In Bingham, it turns off the bypass at the top of the hill then down Tythby Road, crossing the traffic lights and finishing the journey at Newgate street at 5 minutes past the hour.
  • The bus terminates here. However, it does then go via East Brigdford as the Rushcliffe Villager 1 service, getting to Nottingham about an hour later
  • There are 3 additional buses in the early morning which go through to Nottingham via Bingham
  • They start at Bottesford Station, pass through Orston at 6.38, 7.08, 7.38, arriving in Nottingham at 7.31, 8.15, 8.45. These buses are part of the Rushcliffe Mainline service
  • There are 2 evening buses at 17.53 and 18.53 going via Bingham to Nottingham, arriving at 18.45, 19.41

Buses from Bingham to Orston

  • The Rushcliffe Villager 2 service leaves Bingham from the Newgate Street bus stop at 9.25, 10.25, 11.25, 12.25, 13.25, 14.25
  • The buses get to Orston at 38 minutes past the hour, between 9.38 and 14.38
  • There are 3 additional late afternoon buses which start in Nottingham Friar Lane at 16.30, 17.00, 17.30 as part of the Rushcliffe Mainline service
  • They stop at the Long Acre stop in Bingham (across from the Fire Station) at 17.15, 17.45 and 18.15
  • They get to Orston at 17.27, 17.57, 18.27 and finish in Bottesford
  • There is one early morning bus which leaves Nottingham at 6.30, Bingham at 7.05 arriving Orston 7.17 and finishing at Bottesford 

Buses from Orston to Nottingham

  • The Rushcliffe Villager 2 which starts in Bingham continues, after Orston, on to Nottingham via Elton, Granby, Cropwell Bishop, Cotgrave, Radcliffe, Morrisons, West Bridgford finishing at Friar Lane
  • These buses pass through Orston at 39 minutes past the hour, stopping on the Church Street side of Loughbon. These are at 9.38, 10.38, 11.38, 12.38, 13.39, 14.38 and get to Friar Lane an hour later
  • There is also the 6.38, 7.08, 7.38, 17.53, 18.53 via Bingham as described above

Buses from Nottingham to Orston

  • The Rushcliffe Villager 2 leaves Nottingham Friar Lane at 8.45, 9.45, 10.45, 11.45, 12.45, 13.45, 14.45 travelling via West Bridgford, Morrisons, Radcliffe, Cotgrave, Cropwell Bishop, Granby, Elton, getting to Orston an hour later, then going on to Bingham
  • There is also the 6.30, 16.30, 17.00, 17.30 via Bingham as described above

Buses from Bingham to Nottingham

  • The service from Bingham to Nottingham is the Rushcliffe Mainline service
  • There are 6 buses an hour, leaving Bingham Coop every 10 minutes at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 00 minutes past the hour during the day. The journey takes 40 minutes
  • The buses start at Swallow Drive 5 minutes earlier
  • The buses do not follow the A52 all the way but go through Radcliffe and the centre of West Bridgford, then on to Nottingham Station and Friar Lane
  • Buses back to Bingham leave Friar Lane every 10 minutes at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 00 minutes past the hour and Broadmarsh bus station 10 minutes later
  • After West Bridgford and Radcliffe, the route back through Bingham follows Long Acre and loops round Willow Road for the return to Nottingham
  • After 6pm the service is every 20 minutes, reducing to 40 minutes later, except on Fridays and Saturdays

    NB: Trent Barton states there will be evening buses for a trial 6 month period on Villager 2, but apparently not to Orston or Aslockton. If you feel this is unfair, why not contact them? Sutton and Granby will have evening buses on request to the driver…. email: talk@trentbarton.co.uk.
